What is Kamon Wing Chun? Kamon Wing Chun was founded by Master Kevin Chan. Kamon Wing Chun is built on the solid roots of Ip Man Wing Chun, of which Master Chan is a life member. Kamon
has developed to reflect the self defence needs and lifestyle of the
today’s men and women. Through regular weekly training you will gain
self defence skills as well as make new friends, improve self
confidence and fitness and relieve the stress of today’s hectic world.
Why train with us?
Kamon Wing Chun caters for all ages, fitness
levels, build, gender and natural ability. We do not just cater for the
young athletic type (although they are most welcome), we genuinely want
to help all people in a supportive environment. We will help you learn
at your pace, whether you are a natural or require extra time and
attention. We are there to develop you.
We do not waste time or
cut corners when teaching you authentic Wing Chun. Time is precious.
Your progress to learn effectively matters to us.
Kamon Wing Chun is neither a fight club nor a group of people learning
to be street fighters. Our members are balanced individuals who enjoy
health and fitness through an exciting combat form of martial art.
Rather than going to the gym and working on the same old machines, Wing Chun offers a challenging way of getting fit.
Kamon Wing Chun is self-defence in its purest and most efficient form.
The aim is to win in the shortest possible time when a physical
confrontation becomes inevitable. We use the most direct lines of
attack and defence; explosive punches and palms, devastating elbows and
chops and savage low to mid section kicks. We use an opponent's force
to our advantage so size, build, gender and aggression will not
determine the outcome. Kamon will prepare you for all eventualities in
a fight situation. Most forms of combat will teach the practitioner to
keep a comfortable distance to punch or kick. However, in real
street-level defence, you may not have this luxury, especially where
space is at a premium. Perhaps someone simply rushes in to grab you, or
the fight goes to ground. Kamon addresses all these possibilities.
